Welcome to our matcha bowl — or chawan — corner.
A chawan is a ceramic bowl used for preparing and drinking matcha, Japan’s traditional powdered green tea. Each bowl is handcrafted, and no two are exactly alike.
We carry bowls from several celebrated pottery regions: Hasami-yaki from Nagasaki, known for its clean white glaze; Hagi-yaki from Yamaguchi, with its warm, earthy tones; Shigaraki-yaki from Shiga, with a rustic, textural character; and Kiyomizu-yaki from Kyoto, featuring refined, elegant designs.
Prices range from around ¥2,000 for everyday bowls to ¥10,000 and above for artist-signed pieces — making them a meaningful gift or personal keepsake.
Alongside the bowls, you’ll find chasen — the bamboo whisk used to froth matcha — as well as lacquered natsume tea caddies and other tea ceremony accessories. Everything you need to enjoy matcha at home.
